Ian Cook

Ian Cook is the Managing Director of Mason Clark Associates and brings over 37 years’ experience in the construction industry, having worked across local government, contracting, and multi‑disciplinary construction consultancy environments.

Ian has extensive expertise in building surveying, technical project management, CDM regulations, Party Wall matters, and Expert Witness services, with a strong track record delivering and overseeing projects ranging from planned maintenance and refurbishment to complex new‑build and framework commissions. His experience includes financial and technical control of construction projects, contract administration, health and safety management, and dispute‑related professional opinion.

He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), an ICE NEC3 and NEC4 Accredited Project Manager, a Certified Member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS), a Member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors, and holds the RICS Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Practice.

Ian has led and managed consultancy appointments on major public‑sector frameworks and has acted as Framework Director and Manager for a number of long‑standing local authority and utility frameworks, bringing a practical, commercially focused, and risk‑aware approach to client delivery.
