Adam Manuel

Adam began working for Mason Clark Associates after graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2016, achieving chartership in 2021, and more recently successfully securing promotion to Associate Structural Engineer in 2023.

Adam’s experience during his career at MCA includes structural design and investigative reporting of residential and commercial structures. His responsibilities have included lead designer roles from small residential to multi-story industrial buildings. He has undertaken full structural appraisals for various structures such as bridges, buildings and train stations. Adam has extensive experience adhering to CDM designer role duties and composing project specific NBS specifications.

Adam’s portfolio also extends to working on trackside projects in accordance with Network Rail standards, and underground reservoir structures.

Adam’s particular experience includes:

• Structural design in steel, concrete, masonry and timber to Eurocodes.
• Design of foundations and retaining structures.
• Preparation of design and specification documents for structural engineering schemes.
• Civil/Structural design coordination on rail maintenance depot projects from feasibility stage through to construction.
• Drawing production using AutoCAD.
• Design of reinforced concrete and detailing.
• Assessing structural alterations to existing buildings
• Design and modelling of steel and concrete framed structures using finite element software
• Site inspections to check compliance and construction phase management.
• Structural surveys of residential and commercial buildings.
