ABP Greenport Development for Siemens

The CDM Principal designer function is an integral part of Mason Clark Associates (MCA) Professional Service. Our team of CDM professionals enables MCA to provide CDM services across a wide range of Building Construction and Civil Engineering projects.

Mason Clark Associates were appointed to provide CDM services on this flagship project for Associated British Ports (ABP). The project comprised the construction of deep water berths and supporting operational land together with a site for the construction of a factory by Siemens PLC at Alexandra Dock, Hull.

The deep water berths were located river-ward of the existing Dock between the Alexandra Dock lock entrance and Western Reservation. The river-ward works comprised a piled quay with a return at the western end and a piled lead-in jetty to Alexandra Dock. The area behind the quay was in-filled and surfaced to provide an operational area. The river-ward works included fenders, quay furniture, paving and services.

The land-ward works comprised the creation of a vacant site, site clearance, partial infilling of the dock with a revetted slope retaining embankment to include Ro-Ro ramps, surfacing, access roads, provision of service connections, and the diversion of the existing public footpath.
